Coulomb Technologies To Expand Electric Vehicle Charging Network

By Greg Johnson April 15, 2009

coulombCharger.jpg Coulomb Technologies is continuing its aggressive push to create a nationwide system of on-street commercial charging stations for EVs and plug-in hybrids. NovaCharge, a Tampa, Fla.-based Coulomb distributor, has signed distribution agreements with Advanced Vehicle Research Center in Danville, Va., and Raleigh, N.C.-based Praxis Technologies.

NovaCharge will work with AVRC and Praxis to promote Coulomb's ChargePoint System and Smartlet Charging Stations. Campbell, Calif.-based Coulomb recently announced that it had struck distribution deals in Europe, Asia and Africa.

The company's electric vehicle recharging systems are designed for installation in public spaces where drivers of EVs and plug-ins would have easy access.

I wonder how much the liability insurance is going to run? There's nothing like a bunch of extension cords lying around the parking lots and sidewalks waiting to trip people up.
