Honda Motor Co,is anything but nuts, so we've got to think there's a reason the automaker selected the LA Auto Show to unveil its study of a personal mobility vehicle.
Could it be LA's notorious traffic" Or maybe Southern California's reputation as a safe harbor for all kinds of nuttiness?
In any event, Honda did select LA and is just pulling to covers off of its Personal-Neo Urban Transport (P-NUT) design study as we post these previously embargoed shots of the concept.
Honda says the P-NUT or a small-footprint vehicle like it, could provide "maximum convenience in tight urban settings" as "a new generation is discovering the benefits of living in urban centers."
The P-NUT is designed to be propelled by a variety of existing, developing and yet-to-be discovered technologies, Honda's designers say.
The overall objective "was to explore the potential for a new type of small vehicle that overcomes many of the objections for existing micro-car designs," said Dave Marek, director of advanced design for Honda R&D Americas - the Southern California studio where the concept was designed.
