Tesla Roadster Roadtrip Planned From L.A. to Detroit and Possibly Past Your Home

Tesla-LA-Detroit-Roadtrip.jpgOn December 17th, a group of 16 Tesla Motors employees will begin a 2,700- mile road trip in a Roadster Sport from Los Angeles to Detroit, timing their arrival with the start of the 2010 North American International Auto Show.

They say they're doing it "to prove that the Roadster is tough, durable and range anxiety is for the weak."

Yeah, yeah. We know it's just an excuse to break away from the office and have a lot of fun. As you might know, we got to test drive a Roadster Sport recently and didn't fall asleep at the wheel even once.

We didn't really see any news in this gross display of self-promotion, which is, of course, the best type of self-promotion, but then it occurred to us that some of our beloved readers might be along the zero-emissions Roadster's route.

If you live in Palm Springs, Phoenix, Tucson, Deming, El Paso, Ft. Stockton, San Antonio,  Layover Day (yeah, that's a new one on us), Austin, Ft. Worth, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Springfield, Layover Day (they must love this place), St. Louis, Effingham, Champaign, Chicago, Grand Rapids or Detroit and you'd like to see a Roadster Sport, here click to see the dates the 16 Tesla slackers will be visiting your town.

Now, back to some serious matters.
