2010 Geneva Auto Show: Tata Says It'll Offer Electric Nano in Europe Within 3 Years
By Scott Doggett March 2, 2010
India's No. 1 automaker by volume, Tata Motors, said today it would bring an electric version of the Nano, the world's cheapest car, to Europe within three years, starting with Britain and Scandinavia.
Tata has said it would begin selling the gasoline-engine Nano (pictured) in Europe by next year, as it aims to expand its reach beyond India and other emerging markets.
At the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, Tata Vice Chairman Ravi Kant declined to disclose a price range for the electric Nano, adding there were no immediate plans to sell the zero-emission Nano in India.
