Other then the 1.4 turbo I don't see anything interesting or special about this car. It's a nice replacement for the Cobalt which was a nice replacement for the 2nd gen Cavalier which was a nice replacement for the 1st gen Cavalier.

GM makes some really good large cars and trucks but just isn't serious about the small car market.

We'll have to wait and see if the 1.4 can get the great mileage they promise. I have my doubts as a 1.4 is too small for a car this heavy. You'll need to have the boost up alot and that kills your mileage.

If it's about the 40mpg then the 20K Insight is a better deal especially in city/combined driving.

I think it's little bit overpriced considering the competition. Will be interesting what Honda will come up for the next Civic next year.

I would expect typical domestic manufacturer discounts after the first model year.

I think GM is finally getting it right. This is a perfect car to release during the current economic conditions. The car is attractive on both the outside and the inside (http://www.2011-Chevy-Cruze.com for reference). It also combines nearly 40 MPG and its widely affordable. The European version has been performing very well and the US version should do the same.
