Chevrolet Volt: Where Will It Be Built?

Now that General Motors has said it is proceeding with production Chevrolet_volt_210_3 of the Chevrolet Volt, the question is where will it be built?

That question may have been answered by negotiators for GM and the United Auto Workers union as they hammered out a new four-year contract overnight.

The UAW gave GM the union-managed health-care fund the automaker wanted, in exchange for GM's commitment to build some future models in U.S. plants by UAW workers. Among those future vehicles was believed to be the Volt.

No word yet on which plant won the prize.

proceeding with production and producing are 2 different things. will GM actually produce the Volt should be the question. look how long it has/ is taking to get the Camaro built. anyone seen the battery yet? anyone know for sure how many miles it will go? GM needs to forego all the hype about it's products that lasts for years before a product is ready to be produced.

We need a Chevy Colorado version of the Volt. Call it the Colorado Volt, four door truck, make it lighter than the Colorado, S-10 sized, lightweight, four door truck, all electric and make it under $30,000. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
