India’s Mahindra & Mahindra: Seeking a U.S. Engineering Firm

Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. is eyeing the acquisition of U.S. companies involved in automotive engineering services and aerospace engineering, company official told reporters Monday, according to Dow Jones Newswire.

Company President Hemant Luthra said Mahindra has identified potential target companies and is currently in talks with them. He wouldn’t name them, so the guessing game starts.

Mahindra & Mahindra, like its prime competitor, Tata Motors, in India has ambitious global plans. Both companies are said to be among the frontrunners to purchase Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford. Mahindra & Mahindra has sites set on selling cars in the U.S.
