Toyota Promotes Jim Lentz to President

Lentz_james01_133 Toyota announced Tuesday that Jim Lentz, currently executive vice president of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A, Inc., the marketing arm of the Japanese automaker, has been promoted to president.

"Jim Lentz is especially well qualified to lead TMS into the future as it marks 50 years in America," said TMS Chairman Yuki Funo in a statement. "His experience spans all major operational areas and he has an outstanding sense of what our customers, dealers and associates expect from Toyota."

Lentz, 52, has spent 29 years in the auto industry and joined Toyota in 1982.

Toyota also promoted Dian Ogilvie, currently TMS senior vice president, general counsel and chief environmental officer. She is now senior vice president and secretary of Toyota Motor North America in New York. She will report to TMA President Shigeru Hayakawa, who replaced Jim Press when he joined Chrysler.

I am sadden by what I have found out about the 2009 Corolla's. I had to buy two of them. The first had a steering problem the dealer couldn't fix. So I traded it in after 1 month and bought the same type of Corolla and drives just fine. But had to pay $1300 since it was now considered used. Toyota Customer support was NO help.
