Diesel, Hybrid Dodge Rams on Tap

Dodge_ram_facing_right_225 In unveiling the 2009 Dodge Ram at the recent Detroit auto show, Chrysler said two more versions of the revamped full-size pickup truck are on tap.

A Cummins diesel version arrives in 2009. It will be followed in 2010 by a hybrid. The hybrid will use the 2-Mode hybrid technology cooperatively developed by General Motors, BMW, Chrysler and Daimler.

That technology already is installed in the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. It goes into the Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango by year-end 2008, a date pushed back from the original plan of first-quarter 2008.
