Tata, Ford Close to Deal on Jag, Land Rover

India's Tata Motors said Monday it hopes to sign an agreement in the “forthcoming weeks” with Ford to buy Jaguar and Land Rover.

“Tata Motors is pleased by the progress in the discussions with Ford to date,” the company said in a news release.

Ford has said it expects to close the deal by the end of the first quarter.
