VW Sales Fall on Deteriorating Western Economies

"The increasingly difficult economic conditions are presenting our group with a challenge,'' Volkswagen's sales chief Detlaf Wittig said in the company's statement. At the same time, Wittig said sales in emerging markets, including China, Russia and Brazil, provide growth opportunities for VW.
