Right-Wingers Push Obama Protest Through GM Boycott
By Michelle Krebs June 9, 2009WASHINGTON -- Right-wing radio hosts says there's only one choice for conservatives angry
about government involvement in the auto industry: Boycott GM.
"Nobody wants to support an Obama company," Rush Limbaugh told his audience, citing a poll showing that 17 percent of Americans backed a boycott of GM, the Detroit News reported.
Limbaugh didn't outright call for a boycott, but said he understood why people would want to avoid GM vehicles. "They don't want to patronize Obama. They don't want to do anything to make Obama's policies work."
Added conservative host Hugh Hewitt online: "Every dollar spent with GM is a dollar spent against free enterprise."

All of those manufacturers produce autos in the US. And all of them are crying for business. This might be the best time in years to shop for a new car.
Too bad I bought one a year ago.
So Rush shows his true, unpatriotic colors. GM makes great cars, buy them if you like them. American workers make many of them, Rush would rather American workers lose their jobs to make a political point. Disgusting. Boycott Rush.
I don't think many folks take Rush seriously. Maybe a third of the 20 or so folks that will take advantage of the Cash For Clunkers deal.
But, if a GM boycott really does gain traction, there might be more layoffs thus reducing fixed costs, and stock dividends might then reappear.
Yeah, boycott GM!
And American banks!
Boycott Chrysler twice! (been bailed out before)
And farmers - too many subsidies!
In fact, everyone stop buying stuff so the economy will totally collapse. That'll show Obama. Yeah!
It'd be nice if more of the talking heads didn't just spout vitriol all the time. Maybe some constructive ideas?
Rush Limbaugh did not promote a GM boycott. In fact, he recently purchased a new Suburban. More @ link: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_061009/content/01125115.guest.html
Wasn't it Bush that initially gave funds to GM and ChryCo?
Just sayin'...
