Subaru's July Sales Soar 30%; Set New Record

Subaru said it will report its July sales soared 30 percent in July compared with a year ago, Subaru logo - 141.JPG setting an all-time monthly sales record.

On Monday, automakers report their July sales figures, which are expected to be stronger than forecasted at the start of the month due to the Cash for Clunkers program.

Subaru, however, has been weathering the downturn the best of any automaker.

For the first six months of this year -- one of the worst for car sales in decades -- Subaru posted a scant 0.8 percent year-to-year sales decline while the industry was down 35 percent, according to Edmunds.com's analysis.
