Toyota Distributor Offers 0% for 60 Months Some Models, Including Recalled Ones
By Michelle Krebs February 11, 2010As Toyota faces plummeting sales and market share in February, its Central Atlantic Region has launched a President's Day promotion of no-interest financing for up to 60 months on a half-dozen models, including some that are covered under Toyota's recent recalls.
It's not clear if other distributors will follow suit.
The zero percent financing for up to 60 months is available to customers, depending on their credit ratings, on some versions of 2010 models. Four are among the eight models covered by the latest sticky pedal recall: Toyota Camry (hybrid excluded), Toyota Corolla (Matrix excluded); Toyota Highlander (excluding the hybrid and SE versions); and Toyota Tundra.
The promotion, which runs from February 10 to February 16, also covers the Toyota Prius hybrid, which has been recalled for brake problems. The deal also includes the Toyota Yaris, which is not covered by any of the recalls. -- Michelle Krebs, Senior Analyst and Editor at Large
