AutoObserver Reader Favorites: Honda Odyssey Problems and Toyota
By Michelle Krebs March 12, 2010AutoObserver's lead item posted on Wednesday that chronicled Honda Odyssey transmission problems and owners' inconsistent response as discussed on Edmunds.com's forums was the best-read item on the site this week.
And, not surprisingly, items related to Toyota's continued recall and quality woes ranked among AutoObserver's best-read features this week.
Among the most read Toyota posts was an Edmunds.com analysis that showed consumer purchase intent for Toyotas soared after its sweeping incentives were launched. Those incentives include zero-percent financing for up to five years and discounted leases. Another popular post was one quoting a Carnegie-Mellon University risk-management professor who contends driving a Toyota is safe.
And AutoObserver readers dug back to an item posted a couple weeks ago that was an Edmunds.com analysis of National Highway Transportation Safety Administration data that showed Toyota led in unintended acceleration complaints before the latest recalls, and the number of complaints soared higher after recalls.
Rounding out this week's favorites list was a post citing the historic diminishment of the power division general managers at General Motors now wield under the newest management structure.
