May sales reports from automakers came in stronger Wednesday than even Edmunds.com forecasted, suggesting a modest recovery is, indeed, under way. Edmunds.com CEO Jeremy Anwyl and analysts Karl Brauer and Jessica Caldwell discuss the 19-percent year-over-year sales rise in May, a month that came in at a 11.6 million Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate of sales.

Nissan and Hyundai dont do fleet sales? Listening to that video one would think only Detroit does fleets. The sonata outsold the Fusion, Malibu AND ALTIMA in retail sales even though all three beat it in total sales. That means lots of altimas are being sold to rental agencies. Nissan is a huge rental player and that is probably one reason why it beat Honda and Toyota in terms of sales increase last month.
